Relocate to the UK via Teacher Training Through MultiLang: Zimbabwe, Ghana, South Africa, and Nigeria.

Teacher Training is a means by which non-citizens of the UK can relocate to the UK and train to become a teacher. However, Multilang due to our presence in a few African countries will limit our service to Zimbabwe, Ghana, South Africa, and Nigeria for relocation to the UK via Teacher Training. If you are interested in becoming a teacher in the UK but you do not have a teaching qualification, you can enroll in the teacher training programme. Teacher training helps to get Qualified Teachers Status and Qualified Teacher Status with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education.

Requirements to Relocate via Teacher Training

To train and teach in the UK, one needs a confirmed offer of a training place offering a student or skilled worker visa. Multilang is willing to service citizens from Zimbabwe, Ghana, South Africa, and Nigeria through their search for a training place or getting a skilled worker visa where necessary. Training can be done in a school or university. For primary and secondary teacher training, you need:

  • A university degree
  • C or above in GCSE science
  • C or above in English and Mathematics
  • A confirmed offer of a training place from an English teacher training provider
  • An immigration status that allows you to train to teach in the UK
  • An immigration status that allows you to train to teach in the UK
  • Undergo safeguarding and criminal record checks carried out by your training provider or employer
  • Show your training provider you meet their standards for maths and English

Type of Teacher Training

Teacher training helps you to get qualified teachers status and qualified teacher status with a post-graduate certificate in education. The different programmes available are:

  • Non-salaried teacher training means that you cannot earn a salary while you train. One is required to pay training fees usually around £12,000 to about £22,000 depending on your place of training for International students.
  • Salaried teacher training is in high demand and competition for this option. One gets to receive a salary throughout their programme. You will most often be required to have achieved much in your bachelor’s degree and have at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

Qualified teacher status( QTS)

The teacher's training courses help one to get academic qualifications that improve employability and get a QTS. QTS is a legal requirement that enables teachers to teach in English schools.

Teacher training routes

  • School Direct: This programme allows an individual to train in a school while working alongside experienced teachers. This enables the students to earn a salary while they train and a job offer is guaranteed at the end of the programme.
  • Teach First:This programme is aimed at graduates who are interested in teaching in schools in low-income areas. You will receive intensive training and support and will be placed in a school where you will work for two years.
  • PGCE: : This is a postgraduate certificate in education. It is a one-year postgraduate course that will give you a recognised teaching qualification. You will typically spend around half of your time in the classroom and the other half in lectures and seminars.
